THE SCOOP (as a writer)
It was working for the Dale Carnegie organization in the 1990s that made me recognize my passion for people, good communication and expressing it all through writing. So much so that in 2006 I returned to school to earn a degree in journalism and discovered my love for writing features.
Next I was offered a position working with the CEO of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) after completing an internship in their Communications Department in 2012.
Later that year, Mark Lowry, theater critic and Editor In Chief of TheaterJones, gave me a shot at writing profiles for his popular online performing arts news blog. I continue to do some writing for TJ.
Early in 2016 I left MADD for the SPCA of Texas , my second non-profit.
I have always wanted to do my own thing, so I created this blog a few years ago. I write features about talented people who change lives, in North Texas.
So thanks for stopping by.
